Carved Teak Lintel Panel From Andra Pradesh - 19th Century Shelf the lamp combines ritual symbolismThis carved antique Indian panel was used as a lintel above a doorway to a home. It was salvaged from a building fallen into disrepair in the South Indian state of Andra Pradesh. It depicts two large elephants on either side of a diety. Floral carvings and the remains of old paint add further character to the piece. This particular piece dates from the 19th century and would look fabulous on a wall or above a mantle. Supplied fitted with wall hangers.
