(1914 1918 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised monogram of Prince Gnther, above a date of 1914, the reverse with a central inscription of VERDIENST IM KRIEGE (MERIT IN WAR), within a laurel wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, unmarked, measuring 38. 95 mm in diameter,
