This clone has been circulating throughout Asian collections for the last 2 decades and has now made its way to the USA

Plants are grown from seed so some genetic variability between individuals is expected

Subspecies purpurea grows from the mid Atlantic all the way into Canada while subspecies venosa is prevalent in the southern range down into Georgia

EVERY one of the progeny we have grown to medium size or larger has striped peristomes

Another horticulturally produced ampullaria grex from Carnivero with huge potential. The male ampullaria "Purple Striped #2" produces burgundy pitcher bodies with purple stripes on a lime green peristome. We bred this with our classic tricolor clone with red, green and purple markings. We expect a wide variety of beautifully colored offspring. All plants are grown from seed and variability
