A Rare Canadian Police Officer's Helmet Badge Designed For The 1937 Coronation Archive Belt with a smooth finishedFinely produced in bronze gilt maple leaf base, beaver and crown insignia along with "CANADA" in silver affixed to the base, maker marked "J. R. GAUNT MONTREAL" and marked "MADE IN ENGLAND" on the reverse, 74. 8 mm x 86. 5 mm, both lugs intact, extremely fine. Footnote: Never seen on the market, this badge was possibly used at the 1937 Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, as it is usual that "CANADA" would have been placed on the badge.
