the obverse consisting of a stylized German national eagle overlaid by a crescent bearing an inscription of “XII
Romania, Kingdom. An Order Of St. George, Knight Grand Officer, C.1944 United Republic of 1 December 1841 and 11(Ordinul Sfntul Gheorghe). (1944 47 issue.) A cross in silver, partially enameled, 45mm x 65. 10mm, of multi piece construction, reverse cartouche maker marked "Bijuteria Weiss Bucuresti", of very fine quality manufacture, in near mint condition and extremely rare. Footnote: The Order was instituted by King Michael I of Romania on 15 September 1940, 9 days after his second accession as King of Romania; the Order replaced the Order of Bene Merenti of
